Spring Break in Key Largo aka 'calm seas'

Hooray for us scuba divers and underwater photographers as Spring has sprung! This brings calm seas and warmer, clearer water and signals our winter and typically worst conditioins for diving are behind us for the year.

It also means I can retire for some while at least, some of my 'rubber'. The dreaded hooded vest and soon the farmer john part of my two piece wetsuit. The days of freezing both during the dive and after, back on the boat, are gone. At least for the remainder of most of this year.

Gone for now are consecutive days of 20 knot winds from the East. These beef up the seas and the waves reach heights of 4 to 6 feet, with an occasional: 'oh my god!' . Which can make it a very 'sporty' time getting back on the dive boat and negotiating its boarding ladders.

Our coldest water temps are also gone with the coming of Spring and we get a break! Calm seas. And our best diving of the year is in front of us now!! Hoping everyone reading this will get a chance to take a break and come diving in Key Largo!
